Your London, My London
This blog started with other goals in mind, but is now devoted to biographical essays about notable men and women who are buried at Kensal Green Cemetery in London. I am posting essays here at the same time that I am sending related short stories to my subscribers. If you're interested in the short stories as well as these biographical essays, please visit www.shortshortshort.com for more information about my story subscriptions. Feel free to contact me at bruce@sff.net.

They look an awful lot like pens.
Colors: Red, cyan, chartreuse?
They are indeed pens, but there's more to the story than that. Each one comes from a different business establishment: red for one company, blue for a second, and green for the third.
Next to red rubber bands (which I'll discuss in a future blog), these pens constitute some of the distinctive street litter of London. I encountered more than a dozen such pens on the sidewalk as I was walking home from dinner a few nights ago.
